FBR Updates Custom Values for Imported Smartphone LCD Screens

KARACHI: The FBR Directorate General of Customs Valuation has announced new duty assessment for mobile phone LCD screens imported from China and Hong Kong. According to the latest Valuation Ruling (1979 of 2025), these updated values replace those set by Valuation Ruling No. 1576/2021, issued on December 8, 2021.

The revision comes after a comprehensive review of import data, current market trends, and price variations, conducted under Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act, 1969. A meeting with relevant stakeholders was held to gather their input, and they were asked to provide supporting import documents to back their claims.

As part of this process, data spanning 90 days was meticulously analyzed to ensure the revised values reflect accurate market conditions. The ruling confirms that the newly determined values will now serve as the standard for assessing duties and taxes on the specified goods.
